Women’s Foundation of Genesee Valley hosts 30th anniversary celebration gala

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The Women’s Foundation of Genesee Valley celebrated 30 years of work in the community to uplift the voices of women and girls Saturday evening.

The foundation’s 30th anniversary celebration gala recognized the support of its mission. Established in 1994, the foundation aims to create lasting social change through programs that help women and girls achieve economic self-sufficiency.

News 8’s Mikhaela Singleton was the emcee of Saturday’s gala.

“With the Women’s Foundation having so much more of a practice in the last few years of elevating their equity and inclusion – and making sure their programs reach black and brown girls in our community, to really show them you can do everything that you want to do as long as you just have somebody there just lifting you up and supporting you,” Mikhaela said.

The gala also featured silent auctions, with every dollar helping to expand its programming.
