Silt, Colorado - Jayson Boebert faces charges of assault, prohibited weapons use, and more after incident at Miner's Claim restaurant. Jayson Boebert, the ex-husband of US Representative Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), has been apprehended on various charges, including third-degree assault, prohibited use of weapons, obstructing a peace officer, harassment, disorderly conduct, and third-degree trespassing. The arrest comes merely three days after a well-publicized altercation between the estranged couple at the Miner's Claim restaurant in Silt.

According to reports from Garfield County jail records as cited by the Daily Beast, the charges against Jayson Boebert were formally filed on Tuesday. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on Saturday evening at Miner's Claim, where Jayson contacted the police, alleging that the outspoken Republican had assaulted him in what he termed a case of "domestic violence."

It remains unclear whether the charges directly relate to the Saturday altercation. All charges against Jayson are misdemeanors, except for trespassing, which is deemed a petty offense, carrying potential penalties of up to 10 days in jail, a fine, or both.

Jayson Boebert was subsequently released on $2,500 bail, according to a statement from a jail official who noted the suspect's lack of response to a request for comment. Importantly, Representative Lauren Boebert does not currently face any pending criminal cases in Garfield County, as reported by 9 NEWS.

In a statement released on Sunday, Representative Boebert vehemently denied physically assaulting Jayson, expressing her determination to explore legal options. "This is a sad situation for all that keeps escalating and another reason I'm moving," she stated, underscoring her commitment to consult with her lawyer regarding what she perceives as false claims made against her.

According to an aide, the altercation unfolded when Jayson made what was described as an "aggressive move" toward the congresswoman, prompting her to take defensive measures.

Conflicting reports, however, suggest that she landed two punches on Jayson's nose, leading to his subsequent call to the police. Jayson himself, in a statement to the Denver Post, asserted that he did not wish to press charges, characterizing the incident as a challenging conversation between the two.

The Boeberts, who married in the mid-2000s, finalized their divorce in 2023, citing "irreconcilable differences." Jayson Boebert has a documented history of legal issues, having pleaded guilty to public indecency and lewd exposure in 2004.

This recent incident further contributes to the controversies surrounding Representative Boebert, who has previously faced minor arrests and garnered headlines in September for a public incident involving her then-partner, Quinn Gallagher, during a performance of the musical "Beetlejuice."

In response to the arrest, Representative Boebert's campaign manager declined to comment, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
