Maryland Heights, Missouri - In a harrowing turn of events, the lifeless body of 39-year-old Missouri doctor, Dr. Sarah Sweeney, was discovered in the residence of a firefighter, echoing a grim pattern of tragedy. This marks the second instance of a woman's death in his home within a span of three years, following the demise of Grace Holland in 2021.

Dr. Sweeney, originally from West Virginia and a recent practitioner in St. Louis, met an unexpected end, as revealed by her funeral home's online obituary. The circumstances surrounding her "sudden death" are currently subject to an active investigation, led by Frontenac Police Cpl. Tim Duda.

Having navigated health challenges since childhood, including a rare condition called Perthes disease diagnosed at the age of 6, Dr. Sweeney managed mast cell activation syndrome with medication. Despite her medical journey, her passing on January 13 raised eyebrows, with no apparent signs of trauma noted by the Frontenac police.

The firefighter and the 911 caller in this tragic incident, had crossed paths with Dr. Sweeney during her emergency room shifts in St. Louis. The revelation of their relationship came as a surprise to Sweeney's family, who had never met him.

The unsettling connection to a previous tragedy surfaced when investigators disclosed that another woman, Grace Holland, met a tragic end in his former home in 2021, officially ruled as suicide. Holland's family, however, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Daus, alleging his involvement in her demise.

Holland, a mother of four, had been engaged to him for two years before her untimely death. The circumstances surrounding her reported suicide were met with skepticism, pointing to suspicious details such as the unconventional positioning of the gunshot wound and the disappearance of her engagement ring.

The ongoing wrongful death lawsuit unveils a tumultuous relationship, with allegations that he controlled Holland's finances. Text messages included in the legal proceedings depict frequent arguments, with Daus expressing a desire to end the relationship.

As the investigation into Dr. Sweeney's death unfolds, her family grapples with shock and a multitude of unanswered questions. Teresa Sweeney Light, the mother of the late doctor, yearns for truthful and fair closure while awaiting the results of autopsy and toxicology reports.

The disconcerting parallel between these two tragic incidents raises serious concerns, emphasizing the imperative for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding both deaths. Authorities are urging individuals with any information to come forward and contact the St. Louis County Police and the Frontenac Police Department.
