    Queen City lifters win Maud Meet

    Queen City’s boys’ powerlifting team edged Texas High by a point to win the Maud Meet on Feb. 1.

    The Bulldogs also topped lifters from Redwater, Detroit, Waskom, New Boston, Maud, Big Sandy, Harleton, James Bowie, Paul Pewitt, Linden-Kildare and Clarksville.

    In the 132-pound weight class, Caleb Kimble placed fifth with a total lift of 685 pounds; in the 148’s Isaac Thomas placed fourth with a total lift of 865 pounds, Wyatt Peacock placed 11th with a total lift of 715 pounds and Kingston Boyter placed 15th with a total lift of 630 pounds; in the 165’s Charlie Kirkland placed third with a total lift of 1,060 pounds and Trenton Treadway placed 15th with a total lift of 795 pounds; in the 181-pound weight class Delvon Federick placed second with a total lift of 1,305 pounds; in the 198’s Christian Nard placed fourth with a total lift of 1,190 pounds; in the 242’s Ke’Idie Harrison placed second with a total lift of 1,300 pounds and Jameson White placed 11th with a total lift of 550 pounds; in the 275’s Daniel Jones placed first overall with a total lift of 1,445 pounds, Tyson Bell placed sixth with a total lift of 1,220 and Bryant Breach placed 11th with a total lift of 780 pounds and in the 308’s David Jackson placed first with a total lift of 1,370 pounds and Riley Newkirk placed fourth with a total lift of 1,120 pounds.

    The Bulldog powerlifting team will next compete in the White Oak Meet on Saturday, Feb. 10.
