Lauren London pays tribute to Nipsey Hussle on the 5th anniversary of his death

Honoring her late love on the 5th anniversary of his death, Lauren London paid tribute to Nipsey Hussle with a heartfelt post.

Alongside a photo of Hussle , London reflected, "If you know me you know March is always tough for me, 31 days of holding my breath. This day decided to fall on Easter Sunday this 2024. Interesting…. considering your name #GodWillRise ." Concluding, “Energy never dies…. I love you. Eternal.”

Born Ermias Joseph Asghedom , Hussle’s given name — “Ermias”— is one of African origin, and just as London expressed, and confirmed by The Bump , means “God will rise.”

In support of their grieving friend, London's loved ones showered her with comments of love and support.

"Sending you love always 💙,” wrote La La Anthony , and Sarunas J. Jackson commented, "💙🙏🏽🤞🏽 always love to you and the fam.” Lil Wayne 's daughter, Reginae Carter , replied, "I love you 💙 🙏🏾” while Kehlani opted for a more literal expression with a series of anatomical heart emojis, “🫀🫀🫀🫀🫀🫀.”

On March 31, 2019 Nipsey was fatally shot outside of his store, The Marathon Clothing, in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Eric Holder Jr. was indicted two months after the shooting and in July 2022 was found guilty of first-degree murder, and two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter, as well as two counts of assault with a firearm after his gunfire wounded two bystanders. In February 2023 Holder was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison.

Hussle and London first linked up in 2013, and three years later they welcomed a son, Kross Ermias Asghedom . Hussle is also survived by his daughter, Emani Asghedom , whom he welcomed with ex Tanisha Foster . Meanwhile, London is also a mother to son Kameron Carter , whom she shares with Lil Wayne .

Since his passing London has been candid about missing her late partner, paying tribute to Hussle at various other milestones. Sharing “From 60th St to a Star on Hollywood,” back in 2022, when Nipsey received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on what would have been the his 37th birthday. And more recently in August 2023, on what would've been his 38th birthday. "Honoring the day you blessed the Earth with your presence," she wrote , ”Forever more.”
