Five People Shot at Dinwiddie County Home on Monday

Dinwiddie County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Two teenagers were among the five people shot at a home in Dinwiddie County on Monday.

Just after 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 22, officials were called to a duplex along the 5900 block of Sentry Hill Court. When they arrived at the scene, they found multiple people shot. Two of the victims were teenagers – ages 16 and 17.

"There were five individuals shot," Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Department Major William Knott said. "Two juveniles and three adults. One female and four males were injured."

Four people remain hospitalized, but none of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries.

A few hours later, there was a second incident just miles away. Officials said they received another “shots fired” call just minutes away in a West Petersburg neighborhood. No one was shot at the second location, but bullet holes were found in two cars.

Both incidents are still under investigation. Officials still haven’t confirmed whether or not the incidents were connected.First responders said all they know so far is that a driver in an unknown vehicle fired a weapon.
