Chesterfield County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Leon Sykes, Jr. is set to go before a judge later this month after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting a resident at a Chesterfield assisted living facility.

Sykes was arrested in December 2022 for sexually assaulting a 92-year-old resident at the Bickford of Chesterfield, an assisted living facility. The incident was caught on camera.

Officials with the Chesterfield County Police Department say Sykes worked for medical equipment company AdaptHealth. He was delivering a mattress cover to another patient prior to walking into the victim’s room. He reportedly assaulted the victim by groping her breasts and exposing himself. The victim was asleep when he entered but reportedly woke up during the assault.

Sykes was originally charged with aggravated sexual battery, indecent exposure and unlawful entry. After a jury trial in February, a sentencing hearing was set for May 21.

At this month’s hearing, Sykes and members of the victim’s family will have the opportunity to share statements before the judge.
