Keyona Henry was sworn into office Thursday morning as the City of Vicksburg’s new associate city attorney and prosecutor.

Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr. said he was pleased to welcome Henry to the city’s team, adding she brings with her a wealth of legal experience, as well as a dedication to public service.

Henry is a graduate of Mississippi College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science, and of the Mississippi College School of Law, where she earned a juris doctorate degree. Henry formerly served as deputy city attorney for the City of Jackson.

As a prosecutor, Henry will play a crucial role in representing the city in criminal proceedings, prosecuting violations of city ordinances, and ensuring the safety and well-being of Vicksburg residents, city officials said.

Henry joins newly sworn-in City Attorney Lee D. Thames Jr., who replaced former City Attorney Kimberly Walker-Nailor on an interim basis following her resignation in April.
