LVEDC has new tool to help businesses locate in the Lehigh Valley

The Lehigh Valley is already a top market for development. It was recently named top region of its size for new development by Site Selection Magazine this year.

And now it’s even easier for companies looking to locate in the Valley.

The Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp. has launched a new tool on its website, www.lehighvalley.org, to help businesses looking for a site to locate, expand, or start.

The LVEDC recently added a database and map to its website that shows hundreds of available properties in the Lehigh Valley. The database is produced by REsimplifi, a nationwide commercial real estate listing data service.

The idea to add the database to the site came from Kristin Cahayla-Hoffman, vice president of business development and attraction for the LVEDC.

“I met someone at a conference, and we talked about the database,” Cahayla-Hoffman said. “We never had something like this before. I was really impressed with the value and that they do all the leg work for us.”

She said the database is available for anyone to use and provides direct access to industrial, office, land, and retail properties for sale or lease in Lehigh and Northampton counties.

Real estate property listings will be updated monthly, if not more frequently.

“Having an accurate, up-to-date commercial real estate database on our LVEDC website is extremely important when recruiting new employers to come to the Lehigh Valley, for existing employers that are looking for room to expand, and for entrepreneurs looking for a startup space. These companies want real-time data to help make their business decisions,” she said.

There are two ways to use Find a Site by viewing and clicking sites on the map, or by using the data tab to access sortable tables.

There are currently more than 400 listings on the site that are searchable by components such as square footage, price, sale or lease, type of use (industrial, retail, office), and location (county, municipality, zip code).

“It gives them a way to see if there is a 30,000-square-foot manufacturing building if that’s what they need. It’s very simple and intuitive,” she said.

Each site listing has a link to more information such as details about the property or building, photos, maps, a listing brochure, and contact information for the owner or broker.

“it’s another tool we have to offer,” Cahayla-Hoffman said.

In addition to being a resource for businesses looking for a property, Cahayla-Hoffman said the Find a Site tool is an advantage for Lehigh Valley brokers by promoting their listings, and for municipalities that have sites available for development.
