The Jefferson Parkway West Mill and Overlay and Mill Towns Trail improvements project will begin construction on Monday, June 10 and last through late August.

The project includes milling and overlaying Jefferson Parkway from Highway 3 to Highway 246/ Division Street, installing a mini roundabout at the intersection of Jefferson Parkway and Jefferson Road, installing the Mill Towns State Trail from Riverside Park to Division Street, constructing turn lanes, and improving pedestrian crossing for ADA accessibility throughout the project corridor.

The project is broken into two phases. Phase 1 consists of all work elements from Highway 3 to the east entrance of Roosevelt Drive. To access properties during this phase, residents will need to use the east entrance of Roosevelt Drive and Jefferson Parkway to the east towards Division Street.

Phase 2 will begin in August and consists of all work elements from the east entrance of Roosevelt Drive to Division Street. To access their properties during this phase, residents will need to use the west entrance of Roosevelt Drive and Jefferson Parkway to the west towards Jefferson Road.

The city of Northfield is committed to being forward-thinking by enhancing the quality of city streets for all Northfield residents. The City urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones, and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
