Faribault’s Robin Kleffman is no stranger to swimming, as he has won several awards and made several trips to the United States Masters Swimming National Championships. Cannon Falls Bears bounce back from slow start to season
The Cannon Falls Bears overcame a slow start to the season in May and now sit at about .500 with a 9-10 record. Prior to a pair of losses to fellow Classic Cannon Valley League powerhouses Miesville and Red Wing this past week, the Bears were winners of five in a row – including their annual Josh Harrison Memorial Tournament – and six of their previous seven.

Red Wing Aces 3 Cannon Falls Bears 1-The Aces rallied for a win over the Bears at the Red Wing Athletic Field. The game was scoreless through five innings. Cannon Falls scored their lone in the sixth inning against Aces starting pitcher Aaron Johnson when Beau Zimmerman tripled with two out and scored on an rbi single by Riley Miller. Zimmerman pitched six scoreless innings for the Bears before Keith Meyers came in to pitch the bottom of the seventh inning for Cannon Falls. The Aces promptly scored two runs to take the lead. Brodie Smith had an infield single and a sacrafice bunt by Zach Harding moved Smith to second base. Marcus Walm's rbi double tied the game and Dixon Irwin's rbi single scored Walm to make it 2-1.
