Goodhue County plans cannabis moratorium
The Goodhue County Board is considering an emergency moratorium on cannabis dispensaries to give county staff time to write regulations. A public hearing on the proposed moratorium is scheduled for Wednesday, July 3 in Cannon Falls. The moratorium would be in place until Jan. 1, 2025 and would prohibit both new and pending cannabis locations, according to a draft.

Faribault man charged with murder of 22-year-old co-worker
Mohamed Aden Hared, 24, of Faribault, was charged on Tuesday with second-degree intentional murder in connection with the death of Ahmed Ibrahim Cariif, 22, also of Faribault, according to a news release from Dakota County Attorney Kathy Keena.
