    Claim:

In summer 2025, the hit sitcom television show "Roseanne" will return for an 11th season.

    Rating:

Labeled Satire ( About this rating? )

On June 4, 2024, Facebook account @YODA BBY ABY posted a claim positing that "Roseanne" – a 10-season sitcom television show that ran from 1988 to 1997 – would be releasing an 11th season in summer 2025. The caption for the Facebook post read:

    ROSEANNE SEASON 11!!! SUMMER 2025!!!

Get ready for the hilarious and heartwarming return of Roseanne in its long-awaited Season 11! Picking up decades after Dan's passing, Roseanne has reinvented herself as a published author, writing a series of quirky books about life in Lanford, while the rest of the Conner family navigates their own quirky adventures. Join the original cast as they tackle life's ups and downs with the same humor and love that made you fall in love with them in the first place.

The post gained more than 12,000 reactions and 5,100 comments, at the time of this writing. "Can't wait! It's my absolute favorite show!" one user wrote.

Unfortunately for this fan, the show is not returning; this item was not a factual recounting of real-life events. If an 11th season were coming out, the official social media pages for ABC Network would have announced it.

The Facebook account that originally shared the fake poster has made dozens of similarly fake movie and TV show posters. The account is connected to another site called screenslant.com . The page's bio has a disclaimer as follows:

I'm just here to eat frogs, lift rocks and be satirical. The page is 100% satire and fake news. ❤️

We've previously debunked other such rumors related to fake posters, such as this one claiming to be for a sequel to the '80s film series "The NeverEnding Story" and another fake poster for a "Speed 3" film starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.

For background, here is why we sometimes write about satire/humor.
