The Aging Wellbeing Coalition of Glenn County is inviting the community to the inaugural Senior Resource Expo, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., June 27, at the Glenn County Fairgrounds in Orland.

According to the Coalition, the free pioneering event is dedicated to empowering and supporting local seniors ages 55 and above.

The Senior Resource Expo will offer a unique platform aiming to bring together a comprehensive array of services and information tailored specifically to the unique needs and interests of seniors.

From wellness to critical services and social activities, attendees can expect to find a wealth of resources designed to enhance quality of life and well-being.

“Our seniors are the backbone of our community, and it’s essential that we provide them with the support and resources they need,” said Monica Rossman, Glenn County District 2 board member. “The Senior Resource Expo is an opportunity to connect seniors with the tools and services that can help them navigate the challenges and opportunities of aging with dignity and independence.”

Among the event’s highlights will be booths and presentations from healthcare providers, non-profit organizations and government agencies covering topics such as:

    • Health screenings and wellness programs

    • Veteran services

    • Elder fraud, elder abuse, and legal planning services

    • Food and transportation services

    • Social activities, clubs, and volunteer opportunities

In addition to informational sessions and vendor exhibits, the Senior Resource Expo will provide a free meal, courtesy of Assemblyman James Gallagher, live entertainment, prizes, and opportunities for networking and socializing.

“We are excited to provide an event for seniors to discover new opportunities, make connections, and access the support they need,” said Jim Yoder, Glenn County District 4 board member. “The Senior Resource Expo is a landmark event that looks forward to welcoming all local seniors.”

Yasmin Caro, Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency and Yolanda Martinez, Community Action Department are the co-chairs of the Expo.
