Maricopa Unified School District board on Wednesday night approved 4.6% in performance-based pay for MUSD Supt. Tracey Lopeman.

    That amounts to $8,504.25.

Her contracted base salary is $184,875 a year.

The board came to the decision after a closed-door review with Lopeman following a Wednesday night meeting.

“The performance review was conducted in executive session, so specific feedback is confidential,” MUSD spokesperson Mishell Terry said. “However, Dr. Lopeman’s work will continue to be guided by the overarching district goals outlined in our strategic plan.”

    Those goals are:

    • Every student graduates prepared to create, innovate, lead, and succeed.
    • Every student has access to and equity in excellent educational services, resources, and programs.
    • Organizational culture prioritizes people over programs and invests in the support of students and staff.
    • Community pride through excellent customer service, sound business practices, open and effective communication, and safe, attractive facilities.

Lopeman oversees a district of nearly 9,000 students at a time when teacher vacancies are low.

School officials report that Lopeman also receives a car allowance of $10,800 and a discretionary stipend of $5,000. She also receives an annuity of $20,000, health insurance compensation of $6,284.52 and short-term disability coverage of $640.80.
