Recently on The Rashad Richey Morning Show, Team Lead for Food and Dining at the Atlanta Journal Constitution Yvonne Zusel and founder of Plantbaed Cafe in Vinings, Anne Onyeneho recently shared insights into her thriving plant-based restaurant.

Ms. Onyeneho, a first-generation Nigerian American, explained that Planted Cafe distinguishes itself by offering a 100% plant-based menu free from soy and GMOs. Emphasizing whole, real ingredients, the cafe aims to provide clean, nourishing, and delicious meals to its community.

During the interview, Ms. Onyeneho showcased some of the cafe's standout dishes, such as the G-Burger—a garbanzo bean patty served on a vegan brioche bun with roasted tomato hemp seed sauce. She described it as a satisfying alternative to traditional burgers, highlighting its texture and flavor akin to falafel.

Ms. Onyeneho also discussed other popular menu items like walnut meat tacos and loaded nachos, crafted to replicate traditional comfort foods using plant-based ingredients. She noted the positive reception these dishes have received from customers new to plant-based eating.

Beyond the culinary offerings, Ms. Onyeneho shared her personal health journey, which led her to adopt a plant-based diet to address health issues related to fibroids. She credited this dietary shift not only for weight loss but also for alleviating symptoms and contributing to her current pregnancy.

The interview touched on Ms. Onyeneho's entrepreneurial ventures, including her self-published cookbook, which gained significant traction during the pandemic. The cookbook features recipes and insights into alkaline-based nutrition, reflecting her commitment to educating others about healthful eating.
