Fans are outraged by ESPN's Stephen A. Smith's comments regarding his attendance at Monday night's Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers, viewing his remarks as dismissive.

"Guess who's about to do that hockey, bro," Smith said during a segment on ESPN's First Take with NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe. "And guess what, Shay Shay, your boy is in Florida. I'm going to Game 7. I don't know a damn thing about hockey other than the fact that the puck is black."

Smith's remarks have not gone over well with hockey fans, many of whom find them disrespectful to the game.

Critics argue that ESPN's coverage of hockey pales in comparison to that of other major leagues like the NFL and NBA.

"This is up there for some of the worst content I’ve ever seen and the world would be a better place if ESPN admitted failure and sold the NHL rights," said one fan.

"Please keep him away from our beautiful game; he doesn't even care about hockey," echoed another.

"Can Stephen A even name 5 players in the Cup Final?" said one more.

"Who wants to bet that Stephen A. Smith doesn’t know where the Oilers play?" added another skeptic.

Smith's polarizing comments have set the stage for a charged atmosphere as hockey fans eagerly await the outcome of Game 7.

The Panthers initially led the series 3-0 before the Oilers mounted a dramatic comeback, forcing a decisive final game.
