EMMET COUNTY, Iowa (KCAU) — As a result of the extremely high lake and river levels in Emmet County EMA has enacted a “no wake” rule.

Iowa Flood Center Asst. Dir. says rainfall makes flood predictions challenging

A no-wake rule restricts boat operation to speeds of five miles per hour or less to prevent further damage to property caused by erosion by the extremely high lake and river levels.

Emmet County EMA in the Facebook post states the violation of this newly established rule may result in fines, court costs, and surcharges of $95.25 for each violation per Iowa Code.
