Neil Young has announced the cancellation of a slew of upcoming concert dates and, based on his wording, the band seems to be taking an indefinite break from the road following some shared health woes.

The "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" singer, 78, took to his official website on June 26, 2024 with the update , titled, "LOVE EARTH TOUR BREAK," where he emphasized the "GREAT AUDIENCES AND MUSIC" they've experienced so far, using all-caps while affirming that the whole group, which consists of Young, Micah Nelson , Ralph Molina and Billy Talbot , has "HAD A BLAST."

Unfortunately, some members of the band fell ill after their show at Michigan's Pine Knob Music Theatre on Wednesday, May 22, requiring them to put things on pause. The group originally postponed a small handful of upcoming shows on May 24, announcing that their May 26 and 27 concerts would be rescheduled at a later date.

The band then had a brief, previously scheduled hiatus, with shows set to pick back up on July 8 in Toronto, but, unfortunately, Young wrote that they're "still not fully recovered," meaning, "sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break."

Young promised when they are "ready to rock again," the band will "try to play some of the dates [they] miss as time passes," apologizing to fans for the inconvenience and expressing gratitude for their "understanding and patience."

"Health is # 1," he concluded. "We want to stay and do more shows and more albums for you…. and for for [sic] us."

It's not clear which members of the band have been affected by the unspecified illness, nor what their current conditions are, but while all dates remain listed on their website, Ohana Festival and Bourbon & Beyond , both scheduled for September, have confirmed the band's withdrawal from the lineup, suggesting that the tour's "big unplanned break" is more of a formal cancellation.
