    VDH hosting clinics for vaccines required for Chesterfield students

    CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is hosting three free vaccine clinics for Chesterfield County Public Schools students for vaccines that are required by the Commonwealth.

    According to the school district, three clinics will take place in July for 7th and 12th grade students in the county:

    • Monday, July 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at L.C. Bird High School (10301 Courthouse Road)
    • Thursday, July 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Matoaca High School (17700 Longhouse Lane)
    • Thursday, July 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at L.C. Bird High School (10301 Courthouse Road)

    The following required immunizations will be offered at each clinic:

    • 12th grade
      • Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap)
      • Meningococcal conjugate (MenACWY)
      • Human papillomavirus (HPV)
    • 12th grade
      • Meningococcal conjugate (MenACWY)

    Students are asked to bring their immunization records and insurance card if possible and to provide updated records to their school’s nurse after getting the required vaccines.

    Students enrolled in summer school at L.C. Bird or Matoaca can attend a vaccine clinic if they have a signed consent form in English or Spanish with them. All other students must be at least 18 years old or be accompanied by someone 18 years old or older.
