Reigning champion Jonas Vingegaard will look to put a painful injury behind him over the coming weeks and aim to join a select group of riders to claim three successive Tour de France general classification triumphs.

Vinegaard held sway over Tadej Pogacar once again last year, but the Danish star has not raced for three months after a crash at Itzulia Basque Country left him with a broken collar bone, broken ribs and a punctured lung.

Pogacar, who swept to GC glory in 2021 and 2022, is in supreme form and will aim to add another twist to the tale of cycling's latest great rivalry. He will have the support of a talent-stacked UAE Team Emirates, including Britain's Adam Yates who finished on the podium behind Vingegaard and Pogacar last year.

A huge global TV and online audience watched the most high-profile race on the cycling calendar again.

Here's everything you need to know about tuning in to the 2024 Tour de France, including channels and streaming information.

The June 29 Grand Depart is the first of three stages that will take place entirely in Italy as the 2024 edition marks the 100th anniversary of the Tour's first Italian winner Ottavio Bottecchia claiming glory.

In a break from tradition, the final stage will take place July 21 , a time trial between Monaco and Nice. The Tour's usual finale on the Champs Elysees is not an option as Paris hosts the 2024 Olympic Games.
