Residents, businesses asked to report flood property damage as state seeks disaster relief

South Dakota residents are being asked to report flood-related property damage in an effort to secure federal disaster relief funds.

Residents and business owners who suffered property loss or damage due to recent flooding can report their damage online at crisistrack.juvare.com/selfreport/sdoem.jsp. The deadline for some areas to submit damage reports is July 12.

The South Dakota Office of Emergency Management will use the reports to seek a Presidential Disaster Declaration for Individual Assistance and a Small Business Administration Rural Agency Disaster Declaration. Submitting a report does not guarantee federal relief will be provided.

How to report property damage

Go to crisistrack.juvare.com/selfreport/sdoem.jsp and select your county. Residents with home damage can select the residential damage form, while businesses can fill out the commercial damage form. You can also include photos of damage when submitting the form.
