Prayers Pouring in For Dick Vitale After New Cancer Diagnosis

Dick Vitale has been very vocal about his battle with cancer over the last couple years.

Dickie V announced he was cancer free in December 2023 after his months-long battle with vocal cord cancer. But on Friday, the legendary college basketball broadcaster announced an unfortunate update on his health.

Vitale said a recent biopsy of a lymph node on his neck came back as cancerous.

"My report on the Biopsy of the Lymph Node in my neck has arrived & it is cancerous . With all the I have received & the loving support of my family, friends & @espn colleagues I will win this battle . surgery on Tues. will be a success . Thanks for All the prayers," Vitale wrote on X.

Fans flooded the replies with prayers and well wishes for the college basketball icon.

"We are all with you Dickie V," NCAA March Madness wrote.

"Sending prayers to you Dickie V! God is with you," another fan said.

"You’re a legend, Dick Sports world is rooting for you," another added.

"Prayers for Dickie V," another wrote.

Vitale, 85, has battled cancer on multiple occasions over the past few years. The Basketball Hall of Famer announced he was diagnosed with vocal cord cancer last July. In 2021, he was diagnosed with lymphoma.
