WNBA Legend Rebecca Lobo Puts Caitlin Clark & Fever Teammates on Notice

With the No. 1 over all pick, the Indiana Fever selected Caitlin Clark, the NCAA's all-time top scorer. However, as the Fever reach the midway point of the season, it's clear Clark isn't being utilized to the best of her abilities.

Fever head coach Christie Sides said that she wants Clark to take more shots instead of continuously passing the ball, however, we've yet to see that shift.

After falling to the Storm 89-77, the Fever's 12th loss of the season, Sides set a higher bar. Sides wants Clark "to shoot at minimum 15 shots a game for us," she told reporters.

WNBA legend Rebecca Lobo spoke about Clark's lack of shooting on "NBA Today," and full-heartedly agreed with Sides. Lobo placed the onus on Clark and her teammates to ultimately move the needle.

"I think Christie Sides is right on point saying she needs to shoot the basketball more," Lobo said of Clark. "She’s only averaging 12 field goal attempts a game.

"For some context, (Las Vegas Aces guard) Kelsey Plum takes 16 a game, (New York Liberty guard) Sabrina Ionescu takes 15… (Aces guard Jackie Young) takes about 17 a game."

"That is partly on Caitlin and partly on her teammates,” Lobo added, before breaking it down. "There are situations in games where Caitlin is open, even if it's just a split-second, where her teammates need find her better for catch and shoot."

The last time Clark took 15 shots in a game was against the Washington Mystics on June 7.  The Fever won 85-83.
