The upcoming sobriety checkpoints will be "across Summit County" from the evening of July 5 to the morning of July 6, according to a release from the task force.

The Ohio Highway Patrol, in partnership with the New Franklin Police Department, also conducted a checkpoint Friday night from 10 p.m. to midnight on State Route 93 just north of Yager Road.

"The checkpoint was held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat impaired driver-related injury and fatal crashes," a release said.

Law enforcement checked 256 vehicles in that time span and diverted two for further evaluation.

The OVI checkpoint was funded by federal grant funds.
