While the New York Jets held minicamp this month, quarterback Aaron Rodgers was close to 6,000 miles away, taking a long-awaited trip.

Wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling revealed this week that he and Rodgers, his former Green Bay Packers teammate, met in Los Angeles to work out. In an appearance on "The Herd” on FS1 on Thursday, Valdes-Scantling said the impromptu workout was "good."

“Me and Aaron have been great friends since I had been in Green Bay. I hit him up, told him I was coming out to LA and said, ‘Let’s run some routes,'” said Valdes-Scantling, who signed with the Buffalo Bills this offseason.

“So we got it in. Went out to some high school and ran some routes together. We’re good. It was good.”

Host Jason McIntyre then identified where Rodgers traveled during his unexcused absence from the team, which Valdes-Scantling seemed to confirm.

“All the New York media can stand down. Aaron Rodgers is back from Egypt! It’s not a secret anymore!” McIntyre said.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh had already confirmed that Rodgers was not given permission to miss minicamp but said it was an important trip to the four-time league MVP.

“Aaron and I spoke before OTAs started. He’s been very good in communication, he’s been here the entire time,” Saleh said, via the New York Post . “It’s unexcused, but he had an event that was very important to him, which he communicated to me.”
