Caitlin Clark and Diana Taurasi are both very comfortable with setting records. And on Sunday afternoon, these two WNBA superstars made some more history.

Sunday's Indiana Fever vs. Phoenix Mercury matchup marked the largest age gap between opposing starting guards in WNBA history.

Taurasi, 42, is 19 years and 225 days older than Clark.

WNBA fans have had this Clark vs. Taurasi matchup marked on their calendars for months now. Taurasi made waves around the basketball world earlier this year when she suggested Clark was in for a rude awakening at the WNBA level.

"That's somebody I grew up idolizing and looking up to and wanting to be like one day," Clark said of Taurasi on Saturday. "Obviously, she's one of the greatest players our game has ever seen, the greatest scorer our game has ever seen, so for me, I'm excited; that's fun. Kind of like a dream come true. You get to live out your dream while playing against the best."

The Mercury lead the Fever 28-20 at the end of the first quarter.
