    Bismarck man killed in Ward County crash

    BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — Two people were injured, and a Bismarck man was killed following a rear-end crash south of Minot on Sunday morning, June 30.

    According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at approximately 11:08 a.m., a Mitsubishi Outlander was traveling southbound on US Highway 83, and began to slow in the driving lane to check on a vehicle stopped on the west shoulder. A Jeep traveling in the same lane then rear-ended the vehicle, before coming to rest in the center ditch. The Mitsubishi came to rest on the shoulder of the road.

    The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 68-year-old Bismarck man, was rushed to Trinity Hospital for treatment, but died from injuries sustained in the accident. The passenger of the Mitsubishi, a 63-year-old Orland, California woman, and the driver of the Jeep, a 36-year-old Underwood man, both sustained minor injuries.

    Charges against the driver of the Jeep are currently pending. The crash remains under investigation.
