    About the Scholarships:

The Jean Alvater Baker Scholarship was established in 1987 by the family of Jean Alvater Baker to provide educational opportunities to individuals pursuing careers in healthcare.

The Millie E. Apgar Scholarship was established in 1987 by the late Mr. Leroy Apgar in memory of his beloved wife Millie for nursing scholarships.

The ERS Charitable Fund, Inc. Scholarship was established in 2019 by David S. Bunevich, President, and Dr. Lisa Nierenberg for individuals pursuing or furthering a career in the healthcare field with a special emphasis on nursing.

The Albert Kahn and Mary Kahn, R.N. Scholarship was established in 1999 to provide scholarships to individuals pursuing or furthering a career in the healthcare field with a special emphasis on nursing.

The Gladys Benfield Watkinson Scholarship for Nursing Education (formerly Wingover Scholarship for Nursing Education) was established in 2012 through a legacy gift made by Gladys B. Watkinson, a nurse who volunteered her services at Hunterdon Medical Center for over 30 years. Mrs. Watkinson, who passed away in 2011 at the age of 87, believed in education and its ability to transform the lives of young people. The scholarship is named after the Watkinson family’s home in Raritan Township, “Wingover Farm.”

The Patricia M. Psenisky Nursing Scholarship was established in 2006 by the Psenisky family in memory of Patricia M. Psenisky who worked as a Surgical Services Nursing Administrator at Hunterdon Medical Center for over 20 years. Because Pat believed the future of nursing was in advancing nursing education (she was enrolled in an advanced nursing degree program herself when she passed in July 2005), her family wanted to honor her by helping other nurses working toward advanced degrees through this scholarship.
