    WATERFRONT BLUES FESTIVAL — The 36th annual Waterfront Blues Festival, July 4-7 at Waterfront Park, will have 100 acts and four stages of music, with highlights including St. Paul & Broken Bones, Diggin Dirt, Jackie Venson, MarchFourth (July 4); Lucinda Williams, Margo Price, Say She She, Bombino, Leyla McCalla, Jee MacRae, Kirk Fletcher, Lachy Doley (July 5); Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Bobby Rush & North Mississippi Allstars; Charlie Hunter with Jubu Smith, Lost Bayou Ramblers, Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble (July 6); Greensky Bluegrass, Charlie Hunter, Curtis Salgado, Dustbowl Revival, Lost Bayou Ramblers, Cris Jacobs, The Rumble (July 7).     ST. PAUL RODEO — Billed as the nation’s greatest Fourth of July rodeos since 1935, the St. Paul Rodeo takes place July 1-6 at the grounds on Malo Avenue Northeast in St. Paul. The schedule: Hall of Fame induction barbecue, 5 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 1, $40; slack, timed events, 9 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, July 2-3; rodeo evening performances, 7:30 to 10:15 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, July 2-3; matinee performance, 1:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 4; evening performance, 7:30 to 10:15 p.m. Thursday, July 4; evening performance, 7:30 to 10:15 p.m. Friday, July 5; evening performance, 7:30 to 10:15 p.m. Saturday, July 6.     MOLALLA BUCKEROO — The annual Molalla Buckeroo will run July 1-4 at the Molalla rodeo grounds. Wrapped around this event will be the annual Kiddie Parade (July 1), Giant Street Parade (July 4), Firecracker 5K run (July 4), and fireworks and music after the rodeo each night.     MOLALLA GIANT STREET PARADE — As part of the Independence Day festivities, the Molalla Giant Street Parade will take place on July 4. The parade is organized by the Molalla Chamber of Commerce. Learn more online ( molallachamber.com/events ).

    INDEPENDENCE DAY — In Canby, show your patriotism by participating in the Canby Independence Day, July 4 celebration. The city of Canby hosts a downtown event that features a street fair with food and beverage vendors. You’ll find arts and crafts exhibitors and live music in Wait Park.     LAKE OSWEGO STAR SPANGLED PARADE — This Fourth of July don your patriotic colors, decorate your wagons and join friends and neighbors for the annual Star Spangled Parade from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in downtown Lake Oswego. Delight in festive floats, musical entertainment, vibrant vehicles and costumed canines as they march down A Avenue to Millennium Plaza Park via Second Street. The parade features Lake Oswego’s Fire engine, an authentic Fife & Drum Band, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, classic cars and more. Then, continue the celebration at Millennium Plaza Park with live music from Bon Bon Vivant, National Anthem performed by Oregon SenateAires, a pie eating contest and more. The celebration features food and drink from local restaurants too.

    ST. HELENS 4TH OF JULY — The Fourth of July celebrations in St. Helens at McCormick Park kicks off at 11 a.m. with a freedom walk. That's followed at noon by the Highway 30 Cruisers and at 1:30 p.m. it’s the American Legion and VFW Flag Raising, National Anthem and speakers. At 2 p.m. George Washington signs the Declaration of Independence. From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. it’s the Birthday Cake for America. For more information, go online ( discovercolumbiacounty.com ).

    ESTACADA 4TH — Estacada Fire Deptartment will host the annual Fourth of July fireworks show again at 10 p.m. Thursday, July 4, near the Estacada High School. They are looking for donations and sponsors to help cover the cost of the fireworks show to keep the community event free of charge. For more information, visit estacadafire.org/4thofjuly .

    CORBETT 4TH — The spirit of independence is best felt along the rural highways in the Columbia River Gorge on July 4. The Corbett Fourth of July Parade has colorful floats, classic cars, and lots of candy on a route that runs from Springdale to the eponymous Corbett. Following the parade is a community festival, capped with fireworks.

    HELVETIA LAVENDER FESTIVAL — Wander the gardens, collect a bundle of lavender if your own or check out the lavender-themed gift shop during the first and second weekends of July (July 5-7 and July 12-14) at 12814 N.W.     LEAKYCON — The festival LeakyCon returns to Portland, bringing together the biggest fans, creators, actors and artists from the world’s most popular magical franchises, including “Harry Potter.” It’ll take place July 5-7 at Oregon Convention Center, 777 N.E.
