Aaron Rodgers Missed Jets Mandatory Minicamp for Summer Vacation

Summer is the time of year for a lot folks to take their annual vacations, even Aaron Rodgers. While his New York Jets teammates were having to take part in mandatory mini-camp from June 11-12, Rodgers was in Egypt, according to Connor Hughes and SNY.

Rodgers has been heavily scrutinized since he was said not to be participating in mini-camp. The veteran quarterback played just four snaps in his Jets debut last year before tearing his left Achilles tendon.

The Jets finished 7-10 and missed the playoffs for the 13th consecutive year.

Rodgers had apparently planned this trip while he was recovering from his season-ending injury.

"He’s long admired Egyptian culture and scheduled the visit for what was believed to be after the offseason programs," Hughes wrote.

The Jets were made fully aware of Rodgers' summer plans even when mini-camp dates were announced.

Rodgers did, however, participate in most of the voluntary workouts, like Phase 1. But he missed one week of Phase 2 (also voluntary) except for an organized team workout.

The Jets open up their 2024 season in San Francisco to take on the 49ers on Monday Night Football.
