Neno Nerses Dolmajian, at just 41 years old passed away at Mater Hospital after valiantly fighting for his life for nine days. Dolmajian, originally from Laval, Quebec, had visited Ireland but was left unresponsive after being assaulted near O'Connell Street.
The assault that led to this tragedy happened around 12.40am on Sunday, June 23 on Cathal Brugha Street. The Canadian national was quickly rushed to the hospital in a critical condition to receive treatment for his injuries, but sadly he succumbed to them on Tuesday.
In regards to this incident, Gardai have arrested four individuals so far and two men have been charged and presented before the court for the attack that claimed Mr Dolmajian's life.
The court heard allegations that the victim was subjected to a full-force blow to his face as described by a detective. CCTV footage showed how Dolmajian was knocked to the ground followed by a brutal "running kick", reports the Irish Mirror .
Ionut Danca, a 24 year old Romanian national, was in court on Friday, accused of assault causing harm to Neno Dolmajian in the early hours of June 23. He was denied bail.
Madalin Ghiuzan, 23, also originally from Romania but now residing at Summerhill Parade in Dublin , appeared in court on Monday, charged with assault causing harm to the Canadian man. He too was denied bail.

An Garda Siochana released a statement saying: "Gardai are continuing to investigate the assault which occurred on O'Connell Street and Cathal Brugha Street, Dublin 1 on Sunday 23rd June 2024."
"The man, aged in his 40s, who was taken to the Mater Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained during this incident, has died. To date, four men have been arrested in connection with this incident. Two of these men have been charged and appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice."
"As this matter is currently before the courts no further information is available. Investigations are ongoing."
