For the first time in over a decade, the Kansas football program has been picked to finish near the top of the Big 12 conference. The Preseason Big 12 Media Poll was released on Tuesday, which is voted on by media members who cover the conference. KU was picked to finish No. 4 in the Big 12 this season. The Jayhawks picked up five first-place votes. Utah was picked to win the conference with Kansas State coming in second. Oklahoma State was picked third just ahead of KU. Arizona rounds out the top five. All five teams landed at least two first place votes.

With some time before the associated press releases their pre-season top 25, fans saw this as their first chance to get a glimpse of who some of the best teams in the country will be in 2024. Unsurprisingly, the Georgia Bulldogs and Ohio State Buckeyes are the top 2 teams in the game, however, there are two teams in the top 25 that had college football fans scratching their heads.
