Caitlin Clark And Angel Reese Will Finally Be Teammates After WNBA Announcement

WNBA rookies Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese will now be teammates. Both first-year stars are part of the final roster for the WNBA's All-Star team. They'll take the floor together, wearing the same jersey for the first time in their basketball careers, on July 20 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Fans went ballistic online since many viewed their relationship through the lens of a rivalry. The two have played three times this WNBA season, with Clark and the Fever holding a 2-1 series lead.

Both have posted unprecedented numbers in their rookie seasons. Clark leads all rookies with an average of 16.2 points and 6.9 assists, while Reese has notched a WNBA record 11 straight double-doubles to date.

As explained by Courtside Buzz on X, the All-Star game will feature a matchup between the 12 players voted and the members of the Team USA roster that's headed to the Summer Olympics in August.

Reese and Clark are the only rookies listed on the 12-team roster, marking the first time two rookies have made the WNBA All-Star roster since 2014. Clark has two teammates headed to Phoenix with her, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell, while Reese is riding solo.

Clark and Reese came into the league as established college stars, but they've proven that they're not just popular figures. They've both made immediate impacts on their teams as rookie starters. The Fever currently ranks No. 8 in the WNBA standings, while Chicago ranks No. 9.
