On Tuesday night, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever suffered an 88-69 defeat to the Las Vegas Aces. The Fever fell to 8-13 and moved back one spot in the WNBA Eastern Conference standings to fifth place.

However, the night wasn't all bad for Clark. She and Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese were named to the 2024 WNBA All-Star team, being the only two rookies in the league to accomplish this.

In a postgame interview, Clark shared her opinion on teaming up with her rival at the All-Star game, hoping that fans don't solely focus their attention on the two rookies.

"I don't think I've ever been her teammate before, even with USA Basketball or anything like that. So, I know people are going to be really excited about it, but I hope it doesn't take away from everybody else," Clark commented.

Clark and Reese's rivalry began in college with the Iowa Hawkeyes and LSU Tigers, respectively, when both teams met in the 2023 NCAAW National Championship. Reese took that battle, but Clark has a 2-1 lead in their WNBA matches.

Clark continued, "This is a huge accomplishment for everybody on Team USA and everybody on Team WNBA. They all deserve the same praise. I don't want it to take away from any of that and just be the focal point of All-Star weekend because that's not fair to them."

In the 2024 season, Clark is averaging 16.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. On Sunday against the Mercury, she nearly became the first WNBA rookie to record a triple-double, falling just one rebound shy of this accomplishment.

Reese is averaging a double-double in her rookie season, scoring 13.3 points and grabbing 11.4 rebounds per game. She also leads the league in rebounds.
