Amanda Balionis is set to make her return to the TV screens at this week's John Deere Classic where she will resume her role as CBS's go-to interviewer for the PGA Tour after she was previously claimed to have a romantic connection with Rory McIlroy .

Reports have recently emerged around the time of McIlroy’s temporary split from his wife Erica Stoll, that he could have been involved with Balionis - who was seen not wearing her ring. During an interview at the RBC Canadian Open, some viewers believed the pair were acting flirtatious towards one another.

McIlroy has since rekindled his relationship with Stoll, with the two canceling their divorce while Balionis marriage appears to be a little rocky. The sideline reporter hinted a potential split from her husband after reportedly changing her name on social media from “Amanda Balionis Renner” to “Amanda Balionis.”

Balionis has been married to former NFL quarterback Bryn Renner for two years, with speculation growing over the past month that they have now split up. At this point, this is yet to be confirmed.

Balionis return to the sport is something fans look forward to, with the reporter long being CBS' number one reporter on the tour. And like her husband, they've both gone far in their respective roles.

A high-school baseball, basketball and football star, Renner chose to concentrate on the latter after being offered a scholarship to play quarterback at the University of North Carolina - hoping to follow in the footsteps of the likes of NFL legends Lawrence Taylor and Julius Peppers.

Renner became the starting quarterback in his third year with the school, going on to catch NFL teams' attention after throwing for 26 touchdowns to 13 interceptions. He followed that up with an even further impressive season, with 28 touchdowns to just seven interceptions before an injury-plagued final year saw his NFL Draft stock plummet.

Renner had come into the season seen as a first-round pick in the 2014 class, but his shoulder injury sustained in his final year made teams worry enough to not even take a chance on him at any point in the draft - going on to be undrafted.

He eventually was given an opportunity, signing with the Denver Broncos ahead of the 2014 season - failing to impress and being waived by the team after preseason.

He then spent time in the Arena Football League, again impressing before signing for the Baltimore Ravens, who had elevated him to the active roster for one game before cutting him. Renner spent the next two years signing and subsequently being cut by the Tennessee Titans, San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers before going on to coach in college football. He currently is the quarterbacks coach at La Jolla High School in San Diego.
