Paige Spiranac revealed how Wyndham Clark used to arrive for tournaments when the two grew up playing golf together.

The social media star and the former U.S. Open champion are no strangers to each other with the two both competing as juniors in Colorado. Despite not going on to achieve a similar level of success in the sport compared to Clark, Spiranac still remains one of the prominent voices in golf through her significant presence in the media.

Spiranac’s latest appearance came alongside Erik Anders Lang in a recent video on the Random Golf Club YouTube channel. The two discussed Spiranac’s early days playing golf in Denver when she namedropped that she used to play alongside Clark.

She then revealed that Clark used to be dropped off by his father, Randall Clark, at junior tournaments in style - riding in one of his dad’s most prized possessions. “He used to show up at junior golf tournaments in his dad’s Bentley.” Spiranac casually mentioned while walking up the green. To which Lang joked back: “No way, that’s… that’s rough.”

Spiranac first revealed her connection with Clark following his 2023 U.S. Open victory as the social media influencer shared a story on X, she wrote: “Wyndham Clark and I grew up playing junior golf together in Colorado. Everyone would always say he had something special and we all knew he’d make it. Now he’s a major winner! Very cool moment”.

Initially her sentimental words about Clark were taken the wrong way by fans who accused her of trying to steal time in the limelight. Spiranac replied by explaining her happiness at seeing Clark during his journey to a major, she wrote: “I was adding a personal note to show how cool it is to watch someone be successful at every step of their career and how he was always a standout player even back at age 13.”

Clark discussed his father’s impact on his career, revealing the former professional tennis player instilled the hard work and discipline he needed. “My mom first took me to play golf but my dad was the one who really got me into golf. He picked it up just a few years prior to me starting at the age of three,” Clark said.

“Every time I’d go golf at a young age was with my dad. There’s so many memories of us leaving at 6 a.m., our family on like a family vacation, and we’d play golf and come back before noon and that was the only way my mom would let us do that. There’s a ton of memories, and then he took me to tournaments.

“My dad played professional tennis, so he’s an athlete,” Clark added. “He gets it and he instilled in me hard work and discipline and I feel like I get a lot of my fieriness from him. My dad is a big reason why I’m out here.”
