    Man arrested following rooftop escape attempt in Sumner County

    SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was taken into custody Tuesday night after reportedly leading Sumner County authorities on a pursuit, which included a “dramatic rooftop escape attempt.”

    According to the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office , a deputy tried to pull over Dan Brewster Jr. for multiple traffic violations along W. Main Street on Tuesday, July 2, but Brewster sped away.

    However, a short time later, officials said Brewster’s white Toyota Camry was found abandoned near Old Shackle Road. Then, Brewster was spotted.

    Authorities said they resumed the chase on foot behind the local Strike and Spare bowling alley, where Brewster made his rooftop escape attempt by climbing up an air unit and leaping into a tree, which resulted in injuries. However, law enforcement did not share additional details about those injuries.

    According to deputies, the pursuit continued inside the bowling alley, where the Hendersonville Police Department tased and arrested Brewster.

    On Wednesday, July 3, officials announced Brewster was being held at the Sumner County Jail for multiple charges, including drug-related offenses.

    “We are immensely grateful for our continued partnership with the officers at the Hendersonville Police Department,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.
