MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Staying hot and humid across the region. An excessive heat warning is in place until 9pm tonight. Then we will begin to see a break from the extreme heat and humidity we have felt over the last couple of weeks. It will remain warm and muggy but with chances for rain and some breezy conditions mixed in.

The weather pattern may shift to a unsettled tropical pattern by next week. We are also tracking Hurricane Beryl. Currently a category 2 hurricane with winds of 110 mph. Beryl is eyeing the Yucatan Peninsula tomorrow into Saturday before emerging in the southern Gulf of Mexico. From there it is possible Beryl will restrengthen and then make a run towards Southern Texas by Monday.

    NHC ADVISORY.png

A hurricane hitting northern Mexico and Southern Texas looking more possible. From there, depending on overall track and timing, the remnants of Beryl, mainly gusty winds and heavy rains, could make it into the Mid-South by the middle of next week. We will continue to track.
