NBA Stars On Team USA Try To Spin A Ball On Their Finger: Stephen Curry Can't Do It

NBA stars on Team USA were recently asked if they could spin a basketball on their finger and it turns out, that not all of them can. Stephen Curry , Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Haliburton admitted they couldn't do it, while LeBron James revealed he isn't all that great at it either.

The fact that Curry, one of the greatest players of his generation, can't spin a basketball on his finger, is not something I'd have ever expected. Even LeBron struggles with it, which is just crazy.

With how disappointed Kevin Durant was, when he found out Haliburton and Embiid couldn't do it, I can only imagine how he'd react to his two great rivals not being able to pull it off either. Durant's Phoenix Suns teammate Devin Booker, meanwhile, certainly had no trouble with spinning the ball.

Booker even tried to keep at it after bouncing the ball off his knee but lost control. Jrue Holiday effortlessly pulled that off, though, and I would give him the title of most skilled in this regard. Anthony Davis appears to be great at it too, and perhaps these two can teach Curry and James how to go about it during this training camp.

Not being able to spin a basketball on their finger certainly hasn't stopped the two icons from dominating on the court, though, which is what really matters. Curry just averaged 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game for the Golden State Warriors in the 2023-24 season.

James, meanwhile, put up 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game for the Los Angeles Lakers. The two veterans are just very skilled at almost everything apart from spinning a ball on their finger.

Curry and James are also reportedly set to start for Team USA at the Olympics , with the latter playing point forward and the former being off the ball. I always believed they'd make an incredible duo and we'll finally get to see them as teammates for the first time in a competitive setup in France. I'd say get ready for some fireworks when they step out on the court together.

Curry has some extra motivation heading into the Olympics too, as this is the first time that he is ever taking part in the event. This is his only chance at winning the gold and I expect him to leave his all out there on the court. As for LeBron, he is gunning for his third gold medal.

Team USA is in Group C in the Olympics, alongside Serbia, South Sudan, and Puerto Rico. While the Serbs could pose a challenge, I would be shocked if the U.S. didn't top this group. The first group stage game is against Serbia on 28 July and it'll be followed by a clash against South Sudan on 31 July. The final group stage game then will be on August 3 against Puerto Rico.
