Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been the center of attention this offseason. His contract situation with the team has been dominating headlines.

Seeking a long-term deal, Dak Prescott is entering the final season of his contract. Talks between the two sides haven’t resulted in anything concrete, as he remains without a long-term deal with just a few weeks before training camp.

The same goes for his No. 1 wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb. Unlike Dak Prescott, who has been present at offseason workouts, Lamb has stayed away from the team as he awaits his new deal.

Contract extension talks dominating the headlines for the Dallas Cowboys will continue until deals are announced. They are hoping that is sooner than later, but another story garnered some attention recently.

Dak Prescott reportedly suffered a minor foot sprain that resulted in him being placed in a walking boot. The update was provided by ESPN’s Todd Archer .

While vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, a picture was posted to X that showed Dak Prescott still in the walking boot. It is unknown when the photo was taken, but sources indicate that he is no longer in the boot.

When the injury occurred is unknown; the last mandatory workout the Dallas Cowboys had was on June 5th. With training camp opening on July 25th, the foot injury isn’t expected to hold him back in any capacity.

Since injuring his ankle in 2020 and needing surgery, Dak Prescott hasn’t had any other lower body injuries. As a result, it is understandable why there was mild concern seeing him in a boot, but he should be all systems go in a few weeks at camp.

Set to earn $29 million in 2024, attention will once again shift to his contract status. With the quarterback market only getting more expensive, it would behoove the Dallas Cowboys to get a deal done as soon as possible.

It would be one less distraction to worry about at camp as well. As long as a long-term extension isn’t signed by Dak Prescott or Lamb, it will dominate the topic of conversation in Dallas.
