On Saturday, Sept. 14, ENVZN24 Urban Art Takeover, a unique visual and performing arts festival that promotes creatives hailing from both the U.S. and Mexico, is returning to San Diego for its second year, on behalf of Vanguard Culture, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting San Diego creatives.

In a little over two months, ENVZN24 will take place at The Soap Factory on the Commercial Street corridor in Logan Heights, bringing artists and performers from across San Diego County and Tijuana. Performers and organizers have already begun preparing for the event, with over 100 artists and 20 various organizers meeting last month for a venue walk-through and overview of this year’s programming.

From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., attendees can participate in the daytime festivities, which includes art experiences, a mini circus, spoken word, a puppet performance, fashion show, a premium wine and food experience, and more.

After 6 p.m., the evening festival begins, featuring immersive art installations,a mini-film festival, multimedia and virtual reality experiences, and a fashion show by Fashion Week San Diego. Both events will feature a wide variety of food and drink, live music, and performances to enjoy.

The festival’s mission is to celebrate the cultural diversity of San Diego and the creativity of artists and performers on both sides of the border. This year, the festival is sponsored by the World Design Capital San Diego Tijuana 2024 celebration and has been selected as an official Community Initiative of the WDC program.

The ENVZN festival is also sponsored by the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat, in honor of Basquiat’s legacy in art and activism. Ticket purchases count as a donation to Vanguard Culture.

“The cultural and creative diversity of our line-up reflects our mission to celebrate arts and culture from every industry across this unique border region,” stated Susanna Peredo Swap, the founder and executive director of Vanguard Culture.
