FREDERICK, Md. ( DC News Now ) — As Frederick County residents continue to see extremely hot temperatures, HVAC companies like May’s Heating and Air have seen an increase in calls, but it said it was more than ready for the job.

“Businesses are very crazy right now,” co-owner of May’s Heating and Air, Karen May said.

May is one of the owners of May’s Heating and Air. She said her, along with her husband, have been receiving nonstop calls.

She said demand has increased by nearly 75%.

“When it’s in the 90s, work always picks up. But when we have extended days and weeks in the 90s, it’s very overwhelming and the demand is through the roof,” May said.

The May’s said they have developed a plan to tackle the increase.

“We are pretty much doing emergency service only at this point. But when it’s 90 degrees out, we have to get to the customers who have no AC,” May said.

They hope for even more hot weather to increase business.

“We’re hoping to stay the course. We are enjoying the hot weather and the influx in business because the past few summers have been a little late compared to normal,” May said. “So we’re enjoying it and we’re welcoming it.”
