    Thousands without power in upstate NY. Track the outages

    Thousands are without power in Western New York as severe weather moves through the state due to remnants from Hurricane Beryl.

    A tornado was confirmed near Darien Lake State Park at 1:23 p.m. by the National Weather Service, impacting include Pembroke, Attica, and Interstate 90 near exit 48A. A tornado was spotted near East Aurora at 1:11 p.m., heading northwest at 40 mph and a thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was spotted 8 miles southwest of Dansville, Livingston County at 1:36 p.m., moving northeast at 45 mph.

    Tornado warnings have been issued for several areas throughout Western New York and the Finger Lakes region, including southeastern Monroe County, eastern Livingston County, northeastern Allegany County and western Ontario County.

    As of 3:12 p.m., thousands are without power in Erie and Chautauqua counties. Here are the latest numbers:

    NYSEG service area

    • Erie: 9,697 customers affected
    • Chautauqua: 96 customers affected
    • Monroe: 1 customer affected
    • Wayne: 1 customer affected

    • Livingston: 4,988 customers affected
    • Erie: 519 customers affected
    • Chautauqua: 79 customers affected
    • Orleans: 15 customers affected

    • Monroe: 1,538 customers affected
