    Woman convicted to consecutive prison sentences for trafficking drugs: Union County

    UNION COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Union County jury convicted and sentenced a woman for trafficking drugs in an incident from August 2022.

    32-year-old Ashley Louise Haraz was convicted of trafficking opiates, trafficking methamphetamines, felony maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was sentenced to serve consecutive sentences of 90 to 120 months and 70 to 93 months of prison time.

    According to the state’s evidence, in 2022, Haraz was pulled over by the Monroe Police Department for a traffic violation.

    During the stop, MPD K9 officer Zorro alerted officials to the presence of narcotics.

    When police searched Haraz’s car, officers located 15.22 grams of fentanyl, 67.07 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

    Haraz has been convicted in both state and federal courts for drug offenses.
