    THP: Driver cited after boat trailer crash in Carter County

    CARTER COUNTY, Tenn,. (WJHL) — A driver was cited after a crash involving a boat trailer in Carter County Friday morning.

    Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) reports a silver 2022 Ford F-150 pulling a 20-foot motorboat on a trailer was traveling northeast towards Watauga Lake on US 321 at 6 a.m.

    A 2014 red Nissan Versa traveling in the opposite direction reportedly crossed the center line and hit the boat trailer.

    The trailer then broke off the F-150 and the Nissan came to rest in a ditch beside the road, the report stated.

    The trailer and boat were both destroyed during the crash.

    The driver of the Nissan suffered minor injuries and was treated by EMS on the scene. He was cited for driving left of center, according to THP.

    The driver of the F-150 was uninjured, THP reported.
