    Sinkhole in Franklin County prompts road closures, detour in place

    FRANKLIN CO., Wash. -- Franklin County Sheriff's said a sinkhole was discovered near Sagemoor Rd Friday morning.

    According to officials deputies found the sinkhole around 4 a.m. in the area of West Sagemoor Road, just north of Birch Road.

    Deputies have closed the roadway and northbound traffic is being redirected through Birch Road. Those traveling southbound will be redirected back to Taylor Flats Road.

    Officials ask for people to avoid the area if possible.
