Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever picked up a 95-86 victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Friday. Following the win, WNBA fans threw significant shade at Mercury star Diana Taurasi despite the 42-year-old being sidelined with a leg injury.

Before Clark entered the league, Taurasi went viral with her "reality is coming" comments regarding the Iowa superstar.

Taurasi commented on Clark's talent translating to the WNBA, as Iowa was making a run at the National Championship in the 2024 NCAA tournament in April.

She said, "There's levels to this," explaining that growing pains were on the horizon for the 22-year-old.

Clark and the Fever now hold a 2-0 series lead against the Mercury, forcing WNBA fans to bring back the infamous quote from Taurasi.

"Can somebody ask Miss Diana Taurasi when exactly is this reality she promised coming, CC just beat her team back to back," said one fan.

Clark finished the matchup against Phoenix on July 12 with 20 points, 13 assists, and six rebounds.

Clark is headed to the WNBA All-Star game on July 20, producing one of the best rookie seasons in league history. She's currently averaging 16.8 points and 7.8 assists per game through the Fever's 10-14 record.

Fans have shown high praise for Clark as she leads all rookies in both categories. Taurasi is listed below the first-year star in both points and assists, posting 16.6 points and 2.6 assists per game this season.

Despite being arguably the greatest player of all time, Taurasi has been outplayed by the rookie.

Clark and the Fever will be on the hardwood again vs. Phoenix on August 16 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Taurasi's injury timeline has yet to be settled, but Mercury head coach Nate Tibbetts shared a quick update after the loss on Friday.

“We’re excited to get her back in the next couple days," Tibbetts said.
