    Richard Simmons 'refused medical attention' after falling in bathroom due to 'dizziness'

    Fitness guru Richard Simmons died on Saturday, one day after his 76th birthday.

    Police responded to a call from Richard's housekeeper at 10 am that day, with him being pronounced dead at the scene. No foul play is expected at this time and police currently believe his cause of death was natural causes . A representative for Richard confirmed his death to ABC News .

    His housekeeper spoke out and said that they tried to get Richard to a doctor after he fell in his bathroom but he refused the help . He allegedly wanted to stay home for his birthday, an outlet reported.

    According to TMZ , Richard fell on Friday evening in the bathroom of his home. The housekeeper helped him and suggested for the fitness guru to seek attention. He felt dizzy before he fell and told the housekeeper he'd probably go Saturday so she helped him get back to his bed. She found him unresponsive the next day at around 10 a.m.

    Other than feeling dizzy, a source told TMZ that Richard showed no signs of injury like bumps, bruises, bleeding and others, following the fall. His cause of death has yet been released, so it is unknown if the dizziness or fall had anything to do with his sudden death.

    Hours before Richard's death, he shared a post on Twitter/X with his followers. He wrote: "Hello gorgeous! Please don't rain on my parade." Fans quickly took to the post to question the tragic news and to share their condolences.

    One user wrote: "Yikes! 5 hrs. ago posting messages & gone just like that. You seriously never know," while another penned: "Umm, this is haunting if this post was shortly before you passed. Rest in peace :(." Others shared "rest in peace" messages, while some also penned: "We love you, Richard! Always."

    Days after his birthday, Richard thanked well-wishers on social media, saying: "Thank you…I never got so many messages about my birthday in my life! I am sitting here writing emails. Have a most beautiful rest of your Friday. Love, Richard." He shared a long thread explaining the traditions of birthdays and his family's special days. He began: "The celebration of Birthdays. Birthday cakes and candles were created by the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans. Later on someone said let’s bring gifts to the birthday person…that was a good idea. 1/17 "
