Tiger Woods Turns Heads For Playing Unexpected Sport Before Open Championship

Tiger Woods will compete for the Claret Jug at the 152nd edition of The Open Championship. But before he takes his first swing in this major at Royal Troon, Woods showed his pitching skills – with a golf ball.

The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the PGA Tour posted a photo of the 15-time major champion looking to throw a two-seam fastball with his right hand.

“Tiger throwing strikes on the course ⚾️,” the caption read.

Fans have some fun reactions to Woods having a light moment before things get serious at Royal Troon.

Woods has not won a major since his shocking victory at the 2019 Masters in Augusta and his last win at The Open Championship came in 2006 at Royal Liverpool.

Although he is not among the top favorites to win the Claret Jug this year, all eyes will still be on Woods, whose most recent start was at the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst in June.
